April 28, 2025 – Grameen Communications (GC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital (HFRCMCH) to officially launch a joint research initiative titled "Integration of Oral Health into the Maternal and Child Health Continuum of Care". The signing ceremony was held on April 27, 2025.
This initiative, led by St. Luke’s International University of Japan and supported by Japanese institutions including Okayama University, the University of Tokyo, and Kyushu University, aims to reduce the risks of preterm birth and low birth weight by addressing periodontal health among pregnant women.
Through this collaboration, HFRCMCH will carry out a series of clinical activities and Grameen Communications will oversee project coordination.
This joint effort marks a significant step toward improving maternal and child health outcomes in Bangladesh through early dental care intervention. The project is also being implemented at Thengamara Mohila Sabuj Sangha(TMSS) Medical College Hospital in Bogura, reinforcing its national significance.
The MoU was signed by Professor Meherun Nessa, Vice Principal of HFRCMCH, and Mr. Feroz Mahmud, Managing Director of Grameen Communications.
