About Us
Global Communication Center (GCC), an ICT-based Research & Development (R&D) Center has been launched as a joint project based on the agreement between GRAMEEN COMMUNICATIONS and KYUSHU UNIVERSITY to carry out collaborative research towards the goal of building a Social Information Infrastructure (SII) model for developing countries. The major target of the research activities is to identify technical requirements and develop affordable services along with business models that are replicable and self-sustaining. The Portable Health Clinic (PHC) is one of the major developments of the GCC.
